1) The Opportunity of STICKERNATION.

STICKERNATION UPLOAD-YOUR-OWN will print you great stickers if you know how to design just a little bit.

The rest of this document is a little snarky because I am trying to have fun writing this. Please have a sense of humor!

STICKERNATION is as USEFUL AS YOUR LASER PRINTER, perhaps even more so. YOU SHOULD TRY THIS SERVICE OUT, I AM TELLING YOU. :)

2) Preparing your artwork files.

Listen - the basic principle is GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT. Do you read me? Do the best job you can of creating your artwork - otherwise, stick with our text sticker option where we build the design for you. Or get some help ! Many people know and understand design better than I do, and I sit in Adobe Illustrator all day. So you can always ask around for graphics help, or go to rentacoder.com and hire one.

We reserve the right to ask you to revise your artwork to be better suited for our press. We ask you not to get angry with us if we do this. We all take too much abuse from the American consumer. WE ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REJECT YOUR ARTWORK FOR OBJECTIONABLE CONTENT. I have had it with hate and refuse to be part of anyone else's.

BECAUSE OF THE PREVIEW PROCESS AND THE FACT THAT YOUR STICKERS ARE CUSTOM ITEMS WE DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS FOR THE REASON OF POOR GRAPHIC QUALITY ON THE DESIGN YOUR OWN SERVICE. We apologize for the inconvenience but we refuse to get burned by people who do not know how to design expecting our stickerpress to work some kind of miracle on their artwork.

That much understood, here are the basic rules of StickerNation Design It Yourself:

* GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

Please don't upload and pay for a sticker and then suddenly become all high maintenance, like, "oh actually i want this design". That is not cool.

* Use Adobe Illustrator where possible, and CONVERT YOUR FONTS TO OUTLINES BEFORE UPLOADING IT.

That's right. Illustrator is what I use all day, and ideally I just grab your file, slap it in a template, email you a preview, confirm your payment and get your sticker order going!

* Make your design 11.25 square inches if you want value. Or 16.875 square inches for plus-size, or 22.5 square inches for double-size.

That's our pricing model and we're sticking to it. We are assuming you know your way around a computer if you are reading this page.

A good free calculator is at instacalc.com - just enter 11.25 into the top field and divide it by your width.

* If you need to upload a different file format such as EPS, PDF, TIF, or JPG, USE A HIGH RESOLUTION (300dpi) AND MAKE THE IMAGE LARGER.

You should see the crappy designs some people have sent me expecting it to print well. WE WILL NOT REFUND YOU FOR YOUR PROBLEMATIC ARTWORK.

* DO NOT BOTHER US WITH MICROSOFT FILES. That's right. Don't use Word, WordArt, Publisher, Powerpoint, or anything else Microsoft makes for design.

We aren't going to want to fire up their bloatware just to look at bad artwork. Using this kind of file format for a sticker pretty much means you are not qualified to use this service.

* Please do not send us a GIF.

Gifs do not print that well. They DEFINITELY do not scale well. Please don't send us a GIF.

We do our absolute best when we stick with our standard sizes. This means we have a big template and we know how to use it. So make it easier for us and keep your images EASY TO WORK WITH. If you are not sure what I mean, perhaps you should "phone a friend". Or go to Kinko's! Happy stickering :)

3) Paying for your stickers.

Obviously, if you pay for your stickers upfront you will get faster service. If you don't pay, we will get you a preview as soon as humanly possible. Right now, the design department consists solely of me. This is because nobody can design stickers like me, nobody in the ENTIRE WORLD.

If you don't pay upfront, I will invoice you. Please pay your invoice when you get a chance. We do not print your stickers until we confirm your payment. This is to prevent fraud and therefore keep our prices for honest customers down. None of our competitors have policies any different than this. Get over it.

4) Receiving your stickers.

Have fun. We want you to remember the principle of garbage in garbage out. THEREFORE, WITH THE PREVIEW PROCESS CONSIDERED, WE DON'T REALLY WANT TO REFUND YOU FOR ORDERS THAT ARE DELIVERED ON TIME WHERE YOU DESIGNED THE ARTWORK. You get the stickers that correspond with your artwork.

If you are not sure of your artwork resolution, PRINT IT OUT on a laser printer (obviously a color laser printer if your design is color). If it looks bad there, you still have work to do! If you are totally lost, please, let us design your sticker for you through the standard order form.
